In December 1999 Dave flew through Argentina and Chile in a single-engine Cessna Turbo 206. The adventure began in Mendoza, Argentina, went to the southern tip of South America, and then north through the Andes in Chile. The trip was equivalent to flying from Los Angeles to Alaska and return, for a total distance of 3000 miles. The crew consisted of Philip, the owner of the Argentine-registered aircraft, Maurito, a young Argentine pilot, and Dave.
